Vitesse

The Bugatti Vitesse, the world’s fastest production car, made its debut at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance event in California. Named Vitesse from the French word that means speed, the 16.5 Grand Sport is packed with a 16-cylinder engine with an 8-liter capacity. The quad turbo is capable of 1200 horsepower at 6400rpm and 1106 lb-ft of torque at 3000 rpm with a displacement of 488 cubic inches. It is intercooled with DOHC 64 valve W16 and equipped with the port fuel injection and aluminum block and heads. It all lies on a 7-speed dual clutch automatic and manual shifting modes. Performance tests show that it can run zero to 60mph at 2.4 seconds, and 0-100mp at a whopping 5 seconds. The sports car reaches top speed of 225 miles per hour. The fuel efficiency was recorded at 8 miles per gallon for city driving and 15mpg on the highway.

The Grand Sport Vitesse fires up with a sweet hum and literally flies off the road due to its aerodynamic engineering. The innovative mechanical innards have been designed to work perfectly even on harsh conditions such as gravelled roads.  The new Bugatti is around 175.7 inches long, and looks handsomely sporty at a very low height of 46.9 inches. The total curb weight is 4400 pounds which is proportional to its dimensions in terms of speed and balance. It will accelerate at full throttle almost instantly, with smooth speed transition on gear shifts and it is quick to bite on breaks.

The brand new body is modelled out of carbon fiber and boasts re-designed air scoops. The front and rear fascia have been refined to adapt a modern yet sophisticated design.  The suspension system is a good deal better than its predecessors’ which makes it a smooth ride on not-so-ideal road conditions even if it sits only 4 inches off the ground. The low spoilers add to the sporty aesthetics, along with the 20-inch alloy wheels that feature blue high lights. This color match the Vitesse’s blue and white colour scheme.  To add to the lavish look, the roof spoiler had been updated so that the wind noise will be reduced. Drivers can truly have a thrilling ride in the $2-million open-top sports car. The Grand Sport Vitesse is priced at $2.25 million and it’s been reported that only a handful will be made.
