Bavarian Motor Works has taken the coupe to another level of sophistication. The BMW M6 Gran Coupe is by far the most elegant from all of the German car-maker’s sedans. Even from a distance, the M6 has a boastful yet elegant silhouette.  The elongated frontage and long wheel base exude a dominating presence with a sporty sense. The slightly pronounced grilles are conventionally placed at the front with a metallic M6 badge on the corner. The BMW sigil is still found on top of the kidney grilles.  The LED headlights sit above large aerodynamically designed spoilers.  20-inch double-spoked alloy wheels befit the boastful aesthetics. The hood is slightly lifted, giving it a bit of a muscular look.

The dynamic design shows a beautifully dented side that runs all the way to the rear.  Door handles are given thin light indicators along with another M6 stamp. The rear bears a sporty look with the smooth-flowing back and sharply drops just after the boot. The double diffusers are neatly tucked on each side of the rear spoilers. A thin line of a second back light looks like it is part of the dented just above the bumper. The carbon roof that’s specially contoured for the M6 tops the elegant ride.  The technology reduces the drag of the Gran Coupe and serves the aerodynamic design.

The $131,000 luxury car lets out a hum of a 4.4-liter 8-cylinder M TwinPower Turbo brazened with breathtaking 560 horsepower and 502 lb-ft torque.  It reaches top speed of 250 km/hr and accelerates from 0-100km at 4.2 seconds. It may all sit on a seven-speed double clutch automated manual or six-speed manual transmission.  BMW innovations have created an engine that delivers pleasure in driving but with efficient consumption and low emissions. Tests runs show that the M6 Gran Coupe can cover 100 kilometers for 9.9 liters with CO2 emission of 232 grams per kilometer.

The vehicle is also equipped with an intelligent energy manager wherein the Auto Start Stop will switch off the engine automatically when the engine is idle.  As soon as the driver takes his foot off the brake pedal, the engine starts up again ready to give full power.  Braking had always meant using up energy but BMW’s Brake Energy Regeneration stops that power loss.  The brake pedal even creates electrical energy that can be fed into the battery. As a result, a power reserve is created that’s solely used for acceleration.
